Course Description
The Institute for English and American Studies offers a broad, intensive education in the language and literature of the Anglophone cultural area. The aim is to achieve a balance between theory and practice, coupled with an application-orientation.
The Bachelor of Arts course leads to a professional qualification after just 6 semesters. As part of the Bachelor's course, in addition to the subject of English/American Studies, students must study another Bachelor of Arts subject of their own choice (e.g. linguistics and literature, history, politics, philosophy, art (history), music (science) or economics and law) and, to a lesser extent, the "optional studies" with language courses, rhetoric and writing practice. In this way, students can further develop their profile concerning their future professional field.
