Five Reasons to choose this Bachelor's Program

Course Description
The B.Sc. Applied Life Science Technologies at Ansbach University offers a unique blend of biotechnology, biomedical engineering, and engineering sciences. Across eight semesters, students acquire strong scientific and technical foundations while working on practical projects that address pressing challenges such as sustainability, digitalization, and personalized medicine. From developing bio-based materials to designing innovative medical devices, the program enables students to shape the future of life sciences. With its international orientation in the first semesters and a choice of two distinct specializations, the study program is designed to prepare graduates for a dynamic and highly relevant career path.

The program is ideal for students with a strong interest in natural sciences, life sciences, and engineering who want to combine technical expertise with innovative applications. It addresses those eager to work internationally and willing to study in both English and German. A motivation for practical problem-solving and shaping sustainable technologies is essential.
Special Program Features
English and German – A Dual Language Advantage
In the first three semesters, all courses are taught in English, accompanied by intensive German training. From the fourth semester, lectures continue in German. This bilingual structure supports international students in entering both academic and professional life in Germany.
Industrial Biotechnology
Students learn how to design sustainable biotechnological processes for the production of enzymes, bio-based materials, and active ingredients. The focus is on making industrial production both efficient and environmentally friendly, preparing graduates for innovation-driven industries.
Biomedical Engineering
This specialization focuses on medical technology and the development of diagnostic and therapeutic devices. Students explore how to improve healthcare with innovative technical solutions, combining engineering expertise with biomedical applications.
