Various educational qualifications are recognized, including the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, the academic part of the Fachhochschulreife (e.g., leaving after grade 12), or the Fachhochschulreife obtained from a vocational or technical high school or a vocational college. Often, an additional practical component (such as an internship or voluntary service) is required. Those with a completed vocational training with a good final grade (at least 2.5) or who have passed a master craftsman's examination are also granted accеss.
