Five Reasons to choose this Bachelor's Program

Course Description
Decode today's interconnected world through the lenses of culture, history, society, and language. The B.A. Cultural and Social Studies (CuSo) at European University Viadrina is a bilingual English-German program that immerses you in cultural history, literary studies, linguistics, and comparative social sciences. You will deepen your expertise in three interdisciplinary fields — Europe/s, Media, and Difference — while building genuine multilingual fluency through a required third language. Studying in Frankfurt (Oder) on the German-Polish border, you join a vibrant international community where academic rigor meets daily cross-cultural exchange.

This program suits curious, internationally minded students with at least a B2 command of English and a genuine interest in interdisciplinary inquiry across cultural history, literature, linguistics, and the social sciences. It welcomes German and non-German speakers — including applicants who build their German during their studies — and rewards intellectual openness and thinking across disciplinary boundaries.
Special Program Features

Study right at Europe's living border
Frankfurt (Oder) sits directly on the German-Polish border, where Europe's integration story unfolds around you each day and shapes the discussions inside the seminar room.

Testimonials
© Heide FestI have always been good at learning languages, but this linguistic interest goes beyond that. I can understand the world better through language, myself, other people. I have realised how important and fundamental language is in this context.
