For German language proficiency, you can submit ÖSD Zertifikat C1, Unicert III, a certificate from the examination to determine the suitability of foreign applicants to study at universities in the Federal Republic of Germany [assessment test (Feststellungsprüfung) of a preparatory college (Studienkolleg) in Germany], or a university degree certificate of a course of study held in German, which was completed in a country where German is an official language.

Application Documents


The following documents (including certified copies of all certificates and language certificates) must be submitted together in paper form with the printed online application form until the application deadline. Incomplete applications or applications which are received after the application deadline (Ausschlussfrist) will be rejected.

  1. School-leaving certificate in the original language, and a certified translation (certified copies).
  2. List of grades and subjects in the original language, and a certified translation (certified copies).
  3. University entrance examination/certificate (if required in your country) in the original language, and a certified translation (certified copies).
  4. Copy of your passport ID page.
  5. Proof of your language skills (certified copy). See the language requirements for more information.

In addition, if you have attended university:

  1. Degree certificate/Preliminary confirmation of completion in the original language, and a certified translation (certified copies).
  2. Transcript of records for each semester in the original language, as well as a certified translation of the transcript (certified copies).

Please read the checklist provided in your application carefully. In some cases, you will have to submit further documents specified by the department.

All documents may be submitted in English or German. Documents in any other language must be translated. Translations must be certified by the German embassy or consulate. Alternatively, the documents must be translated by a certified (vereidigte) translator in Germany.
