Within the scope of the dual-subject bachelor, you can take Economics and Business Administration:

• as a Major (90 ECTS) combined with a Minor subject in the specialisation of Vocational Education,
• as a primary or secondary dual subject (60 ECTS) with a non-teaching goal, or
• as a Minor (30 ECTS) combined with a Major with a non-teaching goal.

Economics and Business Administration can be studied either in connection with a non-teaching career goal (as a subject with 30 or 60 credit points) or as a professional teaching qualification (as a major subject with 90 credit points). If you want to become a teacher, you must follow the combinations of subjects for each teaching position.

The field of economics encompasses the analysis of economic relationships of all kinds between businesses, consumers, and state institutions. Skills in economics are indispensable in most areas of today's working world, and can be applied in diverse situations. Such skills are an integral part of this degree program.

At the University of Oldenburg, considerable emphasis is placed on the fields of business administration and economics. Business administration (BWL) focuses on the organization and function of businesses, whilst economics (VWL) examines broader relationships between actors in the economy, as well as the legal aspects of such relationships. The integrated study of both fields contributes to a general understanding of the wider scope of economic studies.
