Previous Degree
Anyone with an international university degree/higher education qualification wanting to study at a university in Germany needs a so-called Hochschulzugangsberechtigung (HZB), or higher education entrance qualification. This lets applicants show that their educational background or professional qualification allows them to study in Germany, i.e. they have the necessary higher education entrance qualification to register for a coursе.

Additional information:
English language proficiency can also be proven with IELTS, Cambridge ESOL Level 1 (Level B2 CEFR), MOTET (Mondiale Online Technical English Test), MOTET (General Technical English Module), or a first study course in English (there is no difference between Level B2.1 and B2.2.). German language proficiency can also be proven with the Small or the Large German Language Diploma of the Goethe-Institut, the certificate of the Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung (ZOP) of the Goethe-Institut, the certificate on the examination to determine the aptitude of foreign applicants to study at universities in the Federal Republic of Germany (Feststellungsprüfung), a degree in German studies abroad, or proof of German language proficiency that bilateral agreements have recognized or
other agreements made by the KMK or HRK as sufficient proof of language proficiency for admission to a higher education program.
