Study Theology & Religious Studies in Jena (2026/27)

Germany offers international students exceptional theology and religious studies programs that combine the country's historic role as the cradle of the Protestant Reformation with modern pluralistic approaches that treat religion as a powerful historical force and a living reality. These programs draw on centuries of theological scholarship while embracing contemporary issues. Students engage deeply with ancient texts in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin, as well as with critical examinations of the intersection of faith, politics, migration, and cultural change. Students explore how Bonhoeffer's resistance theology speaks to modern authoritarianism, participate in interfaith dialogue where church bells and mosque calls share the soundscape, and analyze the impact of secularization on European spirituality.
