Qualifikationsvoraussetzungen
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in South Asian science or an equivalent degree from a humanities degree.
If the degree has not yet been completed by the end of the application period, a provisional certificate from the university of the achievements made up to that point is sufficient with the assurance that the relevant degree is expected to be completed by the semester for which the application is being made will be completed. The applicant takes part in the admission procedure with an average grade, which is determined on the basis of their previous examinations. In the case of an application in accordance with this paragraph, admission is to be granted with the proviso that the degree and related requirements are proven by the last working day before the beginning of the lecture period. The admission expires if the evidence is not submitted in due timĐ”.

The following documents must be attached to the applications for the issuance of the certificate or for authorization:
- Evidence of the existence of the prerequisites specified (in the form of a certified copy).
- A declaration signed by the applicant as to whether the applicant is at a domestic or foreign university in the masterâs course in the cultural and religious history of South Asia (Classical Indology) or has lost the right to be examined in courses of study with essentially the same content or is in an ongoing examination process in these courses.
The application must also include:
- Proof of Sanskrit, English, and, if applicable, German language (see language requirements).
- A transcript of records from the previous course relevant for admission.
- A tabular curriculum vitae with a maximum of three pages.
- A letter of motivation written personally by the applicant with at least one and a maximum of two A4 pages, in which the motivation for starting the masterâs course is explained.
- An assurance that the applicant wrote the letter of motivation independently and without outside help and that the thoughts taken from outside sources have been identified as suŃh.
