Kursbeschreibung
The aim of the two-year master's study program in Molecular Biomedicine at HHU Düsseldorf is to train a new generation of biomedical scientists with an excellent education in an interdisciplinary environment. With a profound understanding of the molecular function and dysfunction of cells, tissues, and organs, new insights into disease mechanisms and their diagnosis are being sought.
Our curriculum is inherently interdisciplinary and our faculty members are established in the research of human diseases within the framework of basic research. Students from various bachelor programs meet a comprehensive and integrated curriculum in molecular, biological, and medical life sciences. This includes a wide range of courses in clinical and theoretical medicine, biology & biochemistry as well as a broad method spectrum.
Internationally recognized scientists with expertise in basic biomedical research support the study program and will provide a fascinating insight into biomedical research. HHU's special research areas such as molecular & clinical hepatology, cardiovascular biology, and membranology are represented in the program, as are the research areas of infectious diseases, oncology, diabetology, stem cell research, and translational & cellular neuroscience.
In addition to the excellent research facilities on the HHU campus, this study program provides access to the German Diabetes Centre (DDZ), the Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine (IUF), and the Research Centre Jülich (FZ Jülich).
An optional stay abroad can be integrated very well in the 3rd and/or 4th semester without extending the study time. The International Office provides support for students. Some of our students have written reports about their stay abroad.
This master's study program is dedicated to the training of biomedical scientists in basic research, the clinical field, and the research pharmaceutical industry.
