Previous Degree
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in African Verbal and Visual Arts (Languages, Literature, Media, and Art) or Afrikanische Sprachen, Literaturen und Kunst from the University of Bayreuth.
Applications may already be submitted before completion of the bachelor's degree; however, a total of at least 150 credits and a minimum grade of "good" are required by the time of application.

- Entering the major MA AVVA (Afr. Linguistics/Afr. Literatures/Arts, Curational Studies & Media in Africa/Swahili Studies / Multidisciplinary Studies).
- Grade conversion using the Bavarian formula is provided as an Excel spreadsheet in CAMPUSonline.
- Written presentation of course-specific competencies, early letter of motivation.
- Secondary school leaving certificate with an overview of subjects and grades: Original language + sworn translation into German or English
