Qualification Requirements
Previous Degree
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in the Applied Geosciences course or a course with essentially the same content.
Minimum standard period of study: 3 years.
Required ECTS credits: 180.
Necessary imparted minimum knowledge and minimum performance in the following areas:
- Geosciences: Achievements worth at least 60 credit points.
- Chemistry: Achievements worth at least 10 credit points.
- Mathematics or physics: Achievements totaling at least 15 credit points.
- At least another 20 credit points from other mathematical, natural science or geoscientific subjects.

Additional information:
Proof of English skills is not required for applicants with a university degree from a university with English as the only language of instruction and examination or an Abitur certificate, whereby the foreign language must have been documented for at least 5 years of learning up to the degree that entitles them to university entrance and the final or the average grade of the last two years of language learning must be at least the German grade 4 (sufficient) or at least 5 points.
