Previous Degree

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in biochemistry OR a natural science degree with a minor in biochemistry (if the diploma is not available at the time of application, it must be submitted for final admission).

Additional information:
English language proficiency can also be proven by university admission in English, a certificate of sufficient language skills issued by the Faculty of Biosciences at Heidelberg University on the basis of a bachelor's thesis written in English, a recognized language course from Heidelberg University, or an interview conducted in English. These requirements do not apply to applicants whose mother tongue is English. German language proficiency can also be proven by university admission in German, the certificate of the examination to determine the suitability of foreign applicants to start studying at a university in the Federal Republic of Germany (assessment test) or a certificate in accordance with bilateral agreements with other countries, e.g. with France, according to which there is equivalence to the DSH examination if German is proven in the French final certificate (Baccalauréat) as a continuous foreign language and as a partially written examination of the final examination. These requirements do not apply to applicants whose mother tongue is German.

The application must be accompanied by a copy:

  1. Copies of university and university certificates.
  2. Transcript of the study achievements achieved so far. The final certificate must be submitted for final approval.
  3. A letter of motivation (max. 1 A4 page).
  4. A curriculum vitae.
  5. Proof of sufficient English and German language skills (see language requirements).
  6. An explanation of whether the applicant has lost the right to take an examination in a bachelor's degree in biochemistry.
