Requirements
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in biology or biochemistry or in a subject-related or subject-specific degree program.
Minimum number of semesters: 6 semesters.
Basic competencies in the fields of cell biology, physiology, ecology, and molecular biology, including microbiology and genetics (technical laboratory skills), to be demonstrated by corresponding modules or courses from the bachelor's or equivalent degree program or by the successfully completed pre-master's course for English-taught master's degree programs at Ulm University or by equivalent competencies.
An overall grade of 2.5 or better, or if no degree has yet been awarded, by examination results achieved up to the application deadline (on a minimum of 120 credit points) with an average grade of 2.8 or better.

Application Documents
The following documents must be submitted together with the application:
- Proof of the bachelor's degree in biology or biochemistry or equivalent degree at the level of at least three years of study together with the Diploma Supplement (if available) and Transcript of Records (ToR)/overview of grades showing the final grade or a ToR with proof of the (provisional) average grade to be determined on the basis of the previous study and examination achievements by the end of the application period, the credit points (ECTS) achieved (to date), if available, as well as an indication of the total number of credit points of the degree program; the proof must show a grading scale with the best possible grade and the minimum passing grade for completion of the degree program.
- Proof of basic competencies in the fields of cell biology, physiology, ecology, and molecular biology (including microbiology and genetics), to be proven by corresponding modules or courses from the bachelor's degree or equivalent degree program or by successfully completing the pre-master's course for English-taught master's degree programs at Ulm University or by equivalent competencies,
- Proof of English language proficiency (see language requirements).
- Declaration by the applicant stating whether he/she has failed at the last attempt at an examination required by the examination regulations at a German higher education institution in the same master's degree program or in a related degree program with essentially the same content or whether the right to examination has lapsed for other reasons.
- The additional documents mentioned in the applicable admission and enrolment statutes of Ulm University, if applicable.
