Previous Degree
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in engineering (e.g. mechanical, civil, electrical, engineering, etc), science (e.g. physics, biology, chemistry, etc), informatics/computer science (be aware that CSE is not computer science, M.Sc. Informatics), applied mathematics, or an equivalent subject.
If you have a degree in a computer-related or mathematics discipline, you will need to prove sufficient expertise in an engineering or science subject. This can be obtained by taking the relevant subject as a minor.
In addition, you will need to prove you have the following skills:
- A solid understanding of mathematics at an advanced level.
- Knowledge of a modern programming language, e.g. C++, Java, Python, Fortran.

Additional information:
You can prove your English language proficiency via the language of instruction in an academic program (e.g. in a bachelor's) by submitting your transcript of records or your degree certificate as evidence. The language of instruction needs to have been English in more than 50% of the program. You should acquire at least a basic level of German language knowledge in your study time. In case you already have knowledge of the German language, please submit the proof as part of the application. The certificate must indicate the highest level of your acquired German language skills. Students who did not provide proof of proficiency in German, are admitted on the condition to complete one module providing integrative knowledge of the German language within the first two semesters of their studies.
