Previous Degree

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in art history, philosophy, ethnology, history, art pedagogics or archaeological sciences.

Additional information:
Admission to the program also requires knowledge of Latin (language test of the Institut für Klassische Philologie of Goethe-Universität, equivalent knowledge/examinations or three years of instruction in Latin) and knowledge of two other modern languages (one of which must be English or French).

  1. If you are not already enrolled at Goethe-University Frankfurt: a university entrance qualification (e.g. A-Levels).
  2. Bachelor’s degree certificate.
  3. If the Bachelor's degree has not yet been completed: a transcript of records or equivalent document listing the content of the study program and average grade.
  4. Letter of motivation (one page).
  5. A CV.
  6. If the first degree was obtained at an international higher education institution: certificate of German language skills (see language requirements).
  7. You may need to submit other documents depending on your country of origin and your previous education; please see the general information about applying for a Master’s degree.
