Specialization: âEcosystem Analysis and Modellingâ
In this study track, students learn to analyze the current reaction of forest ecosystems to different situations such as climate change.
Specialization: âEcosystem Sciencesâ
During this study track, students learn the theory, critical thinking skills, and laboratory methods of measurement to analyze terrestrial ecosystems.
Specialization: âTropical and International Forestryâ
Students learn to analyze the relationship between ecological and economic processes. They have the opportunity to participate in student projects and travel to a host country (such as Uganda, Laos, and Myanmar) to conduct field research.

The application requirements for the study program in âForest and Ecosystem Sciencesâ are:
Previous bachelorâs degree (or equivalent) in:
- Forestry or
- Related Subject
Min ECTS required:
- 180 ECTS.
*Provisional admission is granted to those who have not yet completed their studies at the time of application but have acquired at least 150 credits in a relevant Bachelor's degree program or an equivalent degree program.
**The selection committee decides whether a preliminary (Bachelor) study course is relevant to the subject. The relevance of the previous study course has to be proven by achievements in Forestry or Environmental Sciences, Resource or Ecosystem Management, Life Sciences, or Applied Computer Sciences for at least 60 credits.
