Requirements
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in geography or related disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, or economics and management.
Minimum standard period of study: 3 years.
Required ECTS credits: 180.
Applicants who have not yet finished their bachelor’s program at the time of application may be admitted to the master’s program under the condition that successful completion of the bachelor’s degree will be proven to the examination board by the end of the semester of enrolment. Also, at least 80% of the total credits required for the bachelor's degree must have been already achieved.
Please note that all examinations of the bachelor’s program except the bachelor’s thesis must have been successfully completed in the summer semester preceding the start of the master’s program.
In the event that successful completion of the bachelor’s degree has not been proven by the end of the enrolment semester, the student cannot be admitted to the Geographies of Globalisation master’s program for the following semester.
At least a 3.0 GPA (or equivalent).

- If you are not already enrolled at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt: Proof of university entrance qualification (e.g. A-Levels).
- Bachelor's degree certificate (for foreign certificates and records, please enclose a certified copy in English or German).
- If the Bachelor's degree has not yet been completed:
- A transcript of records or equivalent document listing the content of the study program and average grade.
- Proof of enrolment in the bachelor’s program.
- Proof of registration of the bachelor’s thesis.

- Proof of English language skills (see language requirements).
- CV.
- If the first degree was obtained at an international higher education institution: certificate of German language skills. See the language requirements for more information.

- APS certificate for applicants from India, Vietnam, and China (original).
