Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 180 ECTS at least 3 classes in Economics. The admissions committee will make the final assessment regarding equivalence for degrees and classes from abroad.
If the degree is equivalent to a three-year German Bachelor’s degree with 180 ECTS, applicants are required to either provide at least 6 months of professional employment or training since graduation or obtain 30 ECTS while studying MIDE. This would prolong the degree by approx. one semester.
Applicants with an undergraduate degree equivalent to 210 ECTS (3.5 or more years of undergraduate studies in Germany) can get an unconditional admission.
To determine whether a degree qualifies, please contact [email protected]. Scans of all academic transcripts (official list of courses attended and grades obtained), either in English or German, must be attached to the inquiry.
Documents from Pakistan must carry the HEC attestation stamp.
The university regrets that three-year bachelor’s degrees obtained in Nepal and Bhutan are not regarded as equivalent to a three-year German bachelor’s degree by their institution. Undergraduate degrees from Mongolia, Myanmar and Somalia are also not considered equivalent to a German university degree.
Applicants from Indonesia are required to submit official proof that the undergraduate program of study has been accredited with either status “A” or “B” by the National Accreditation Body.
Applicants from China are required to submit a certificate from the Akademische Prüfstelle der Deutschen Botschaft (APS). They are strongly advised to obtain this certificate as early as possible, since the process often requires a substantial amount of time.
Applicants with a degree from Vietnam must have obtained a GPA of at least 8.0 for HTW Berlin to consider the application for the MIDE program. Applicants are also required to submit a certificate from the Akademische Prüfstelle der Deutschen Botschaft (APS).
For EU applicants:
Bachelor's degree with 210 ECTS. Applicants with only 180 ECTS are also eligible. However, they are required to either provide at least 6 months of professional employment or training since graduation or obtain the remaining 30 ECTS while studying MIDE. This would prolong the degree by approx. one semester. Also, a minimum of 15 ECTS are required in Economics.
Work Experience
Applicants with three years of study (180 ECTS) or equivalent either must study an additional 30 ECTS at the university or prove that they have completed at least one year's professional employment or training since graduating. Applicants for a DAAD scholarship must come from a developing country and have at least two years of professional experience since graduation, but should not have graduated more than six years ago.
