Course Description
The M.A. Knowledge and Communication at the University of Münster explores how knowledge is created, processed, and used in society. The research-oriented program equips students with analytical and methodological skills to address challenges in communication, and management. Through disciplinary and computational methods training, students gain expertise in processing knowledge—also knowledge from data—in society, industry and public institutions, and in understanding its effects on society and individuals.

The program is designed for graduates in communication sciences, media studies, and the related social sciences who seek to deepen their expertise in knowledge communication. Ideal candidates have a strong academic foundation in social science research and an interest in knowledge communication, digital communication, and strategic knowledge transfer. The program particularly appeals to students aiming for international careers in academia, media, and policy-making.
Special Program Features
Bridging Science and Society

With a selective admission process, students join a close-knit academic community with an excellent student-professor-ratio. The small cohort fosters deep engagement, close supervision, critical discussions, and collaborative research opportunities, ensuring an unparalleled learning experience.
Deep Dive into Today’s Global Challenges
The curriculum addresses pressing global topics such as climate communication, science populism, and deepfakes. With an internationally connected and research-intensive faculty, students gain insights into the ethical and political dimensions of knowledge dissemination in an era of misinformation and digital transformation.
