Master in Business Analytics & Econometrics - From Data To Insights

Five Reasons to choose this Master's Program

Be part of a one-of-a-kind study program
Students of this master’s program receive a unique blend of traditional analytics (e.g., statistics, econometrics, optimization, simulation) and modern analytical approaches (e.g., machine learning and artificial intelligence using R and Python) and merge these approaches with the teaching of groundbreaking knowledge in the areas of economics, management, and entrepreneurship.
Study in English in an international environment
As global challenges need global solutions, this master’s program is taught completely in English, providing students the opportunity to study and interact with colleagues of different nationalities.
Enjoy unique opportunities such as Capstone Project
As a highlight of the curriculum, the Capstone Project brings students together with corporate/public partners to solve real-world business, economic and societal problems. Over one semester, the future graduates of Business Analytics & Econometrics get to work as a team using cutting-edge approaches to data analytics to solve complex problems, all while interacting within the partner organization.
Choose your own path
During the 3rd semester, students have the option to choose between one of two tracks: The Econometrics Track (focusing on advanced statistical and analytical methods to identify and resolve complex economic issues) and the Business Analytics Track (placing a strong emphasis on forming a data-driven digital strategy, building a data-driven business model, engaging in digital entrepreneurship and founding one’s own start-up company).
Spend a semester abroad
The University of Cologne strives to maintain cooperation agreements with a carefully selected and program-specific group of partner universities in Europe and Asia. This means that all international opportunities will be able to complement the range of courses offered and further help students to develop an international mindset and intercultural competencies, improving skills in management, economics, and social sciences.
