The application requirements for the study program in “Master in Entrepreneurship (MiE)” are:
Previous bachelor’s degree (or equivalent):
- Business-related field of study
- STEM (Sciencecs, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), or
- Other subjects
Min ECTS required:
- 180 ECTS
Candidates to this master's program must demonstrate an appropriate background in an entrepreneurship-related area, e.g. through electives, their thesis, or practical exposure.
It is possible to apply with your current Transcript of Records from your Bachelor’s studies, should you not have received your Bachelor’s degree yet.
At least 12 weeks (480 hours) of relevant practical experience. The university recommends practical experience of 20 weeks which has to be completed in the business sector.
This program is open to candidates with a maximum of four years of post-graduate work experience.

One page current curriculum vitae in English.
Copy of your passport or ID.
Copy of your secondary education diploma and grade transcript, and certified translations of both
(in case original documents are not in German or English).
Copy of your university diploma(s) and a detailed transcript of records including an overview of all courses taken during the Bachelor or equivalent undergraduate studies and during the exchange semester (please include the certified translations in case original documents are not in German or English).
If you have not finished your undergraduate studies yet, please provide a detailed transcript of records including an overview of all courses taken so far which shows grades achieved. Please also list the courses that you have to take in order to finish your undergraduate studies.
Applicants are required to hand in a pitch deck with a maximum of 10 slides.
As an orientation on how to create a pitch, the 10 slides should cover the following topics: Title, Problem/Opportunity, Value Proposition, “Underlying Magic”, Business Model, Go-To-Market Plan, Competitive Analysis, Management Team, Financial Projections and Key Metrics, Current Status.
For more information on how to create a pitch deck, the university recommends the books The Art of the Start 2.0 by Guy Kawasaki and Get Backed by Evan Baehr and Evan Loomis.
This proof can be submitted by the 31st of May, 2023. Please note that the Admission Managers will prioritize complete applicants. Those who apply with all required documents, including TOEFL/IELTS will be reviewed first. Applicants can apply for the program without the TOEFL/IELTS; however, it is up to the Admission Managers to decide if they would like to proceed with the application without such scores. You would only receive a conditional study offer if you successfully complete the WHU Admissions Process without receiving a TOEFL/IELTS. The offer would be unconditional upon submitting your required TOEFL/IELTS official score.
Proof of internships/work placements stating the duration, position title, and responsibilities (If you are planning to complete the required period of internship between your application submission and the official enrolment at WHU, please submit a copy of the internship contract).
As international experience, the university accepts internships abroad, language courses, semesters abroad, summer schools, or high school exchange years in non-German speaking countries. This requirement is only for citizens of German-speaking areas, such as Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
This requirement can be completed until the beginning of your studies with WHU. If you were not able to gain international experience, due to the pandemic, please contact our admissions team to discuss your options.
A non-refundable fee of € 100 is charged for processing each application received by WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.
