This hands-on program emphasizes providing students the needed practical experience to solve real-world problems. Therefore, a mandatory eight-week internship in the field of Mining or Mining Equipment is part of the program. International students are encouraged to take this internship before starting the program because internships in Germany often require good German language skills (for safety reasons in the mines).

Qualification Requirements
The application requirements for the study program in “Mining Engineering” are:
Previous bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in
- Mining Engineering
- or closely related courses
Min ECTS points required:
- 180
The bachelor's degree should have been completed with a grade of 3.0 (according to the German grading system) or better.
If the applicant's Bachelor's degree is better than 3.5 and he/she meets at least one of the following criteria, he/she can enroll in the Master's program in Mining Engineering:
- On-the-job experience or an internship in a relevant field with a duration of at least eight weeks.
- The bachelor's thesis was graded better than 2.0 and was completed no more than one year previously.
- Relevant research activity can be proven, with a duration of at least eight weeks.

A fee of 75 € for the processing of foreign certificates must be paid before submitting your application. Applicants from China, Vietnam, and Mongolia only pay a fee of 55 € when presenting the APS certificate. More information
