1. The certificate of the general higher education entrance qualification, a relevant subject-bound higher education entrance qualification, a foreign higher education entrance qualification or a higher education entrance qualification recognized as equivalent by the competent state authority.

2. Proof of a university degree with above-average grades Bachelor of Science, Magister, Staatsexamen or Diplom in a degree program lasting at least six-semester degree program

• in the field of molecular biotechnology, or
• in mathematics, natural sciences or engineering with a biology component equivalent to a minor subject.

In the case of foreign college and university certificates, the attached transcript of records must show the grading system used at the foreign university, as this is required to determine the German equivalence grade. The grading system must indicate both the minimum and maximum grades to be achieved. 

If the degree has not been obtained by the end of the application deadline, a provisional transcript of records must be submitted. The certificate must state that the course of study will probably be completed by the beginning of the admission semester applied for.

If the application was submitted with a provisional degree certificate, the final certificate must be received by Heidelberg University by the time of enrollment at the latest.
