The Master of Engineering in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at Hochschule Bremen is designed to prepare students for prominent roles in the maritime industry. This three-semester program, taught in English, builds on the competencies acquired in undergraduate studies, enabling graduates to work independently and manage complex engineering tasks. The curriculum focuses on deepening engineering fundamentals with an emphasis on computer-based methods, and includes an extensive design project that simulates real-world challenges. In the second semester, students can specialize through elective modules. The program culminates in a Master's thesis in the third semester. Graduates are well-equipped for careers in shipbuilding, maritime supply industries, engineering consultancies, shipping companies, and maritime research institutes, both in Germany and internationally. The program also offers the opportunity for cross-border cooperation through partnerships with companies abroad.

Required ECTS credits: 210.
Applicants who have completed a six-semester bachelor's degree program with 180 ECTS must provide evidence of a further 30 credit points before taking up the master's degree program.
Competences and skills acquired outside of higher education can be credited with up to 30 credit points if they were acquired through qualifying practical work experiencе.

Proof of a first professionally qualifying degree with an average grade of at least ‘good’ (2.5). This can be a Bachelor's degree or Diplom from a university, a university of applied sciences (Fachhochschule) or a comparable foreign higher education institution in subject areas relevant to the chosen programme, graded academic work amounting to at least 210 points according to ECTS or equivalent achievements in accordance with the respective national grading system.
