Qualification Requirements


Previous Degree

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in natural sciences, psychologic or mathematic degree study course.

Required ECTS credits: 180.

At least 60 credit points in one or several of the sciences of the previous study such as biochemistry, biophysics, biopsychology, cell and molecular biology, cognitive sciences, computer sciences, Genetics, human biology, human medicine, (techno-)mathematics, methodology, neuroscience, neuropsychology, statistics, theoretical physics, veterinary medicine, zoology.

Applications may (and should) already be submitted before the previous study degree has been finished if at least 135 ECTS have been obtained, equivalent to the workload of 4.5 semesters. In those cases, admission can be granted on the condition that the previous degree will be successfully finished by September 30th.

Application Documents


At the time of application, you must provide a current overview of grades and course work (study schedule/ transcript of records) and, if already available, proof of having been awarded your degree. You have to upload the following documents:

  1. Certificate of bachelor's degree or official academic transcript of study records of your bachelor studies. i.e. a list of successfully studied courses completed at your home university (including duration, final grades, graduation scheme), in English or German.
  2. Detailed and current curriculum vitae (CV), written in English.
  3. Letter of motivation, explaining your interest in enrollment in the master's program, written in English.
  4. Proof of sufficient English language skills, in English (see language requirements).
  5. Any additional documents or relevant qualifications, such as internships or academic awards, written in German or English.
