Course Description
Bremerhaven University is offering the first MBA courses together with the Business Academy SydVest
For the first time, the Business Academy SydVest (Denmark) together with the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences is offering further training modules as part of an offshore wind energy MBA. With the modules, managers and decision-makers in the wind energy industry in particular can further expand their knowledge. The training, which offers an academic approach to the challenges of the industry, was developed through close cooperation between the two educational institutions and the wind industry.
"The technical aspects and challenges are usually in the foreground in the offshore sector and make up a large part of the fascination offshore. Likewise, the present and future are increasingly characterized by industrialization and cost reduction. The Offshore Wind MBA is an important instrument for meeting such management requirements to which we would like to contribute with our experience." says Tim Meyerjürgens, Senior Manager of Large Projects Offshore, TenneT TSO GmbH, who also serves on the German Advisory Board of the Offshore Wind MBA. For example, the MBA modules focus on innovative project management, legal issues in the offshore wind industry, scenarios in strategic planning, and operational management.
An MBA module includes two workshops in which participants work on specific cases, the solutions of which are then incorporated into practice. “This brings added value and makes learning practical,” says Henrik Larsen, rector of the Business Academy SydVest. The tasks are based on very specific company challenges and are not a theoretical exercise, but rather an academic approach to topics. The individual modules are developed as part of the EU Interreg project Inn2POWER and represent a qualification at the level of an international MBA. Practical relevance is guaranteed through close cooperation with companies that are involved in the German and Danish advisory boards of the Offshore Wind MBA. “This combination ensures the quality of training to receive optimal training,” says Niels Bjært, project manager at Vattenfall, who helped shape the design of the MBA modules on the Danish Advisory Board together with companies such as Siemens Gamesa and Vestas MHI. "We are investing in making the qualification as practical as possible because it represents a concrete value in everyday working life. It is about developing new theoretical skills for employees and at the same time ensuring that they can be transformed."
