In the case of technically equivalent qualifications, it is expected that you:
have acquired solid basic knowledge in experimental physics and theoretical physics in the fields of mechanics, electrodynamics and optics, thermodynamics and statistics, atomic and molecular physics, condensed matter physics, nuclear and elementary particle physics as well as quantum mechanics and mathematics;
have applied their knowledge exemplarily to physical tasks and partially deepened and thus acquired basic problem-solving skills;
understood fundamental principles of physics as well as their mathematical formulation and have acquired methods that are suitable for modeling and simulation of relevant physical processes;
physical and partly also overarching problems that require a goal-oriented and logically sound approach, based on scientific knowledge to independently classify and analyze through the use of scientific and mathematical methods, respectively. solve;
use their knowledge in different areas and act responsibly in their professional activities. In doing so, they can also recognize new developments in their field and include their methodology - if necessary after appropriate qualification - in their work;
know the communication procedures common in the scientific enterprise and are familiar with the English technical language;
able to solve a suitable scientific problem and present their results in oral presentation and writing;
know the rules of good scientific practice.
If the applicant lacks prerequisites for admission to the master's program, the examination board may grant admission on condition that by the time the master's thesis is submitted, the missing knowledge is demonstrated by completing certain modules to the extent of up to 30 crеdits.

English language proficiency can also be proven with school reports that provide evidence of learning the foreign language for at least 5 years if the language was learned up to the final examinations that entitle pupils to study at a university (the final grade or the average grade from the final two years of language learning must be at least the equivalent of a German grade 4 - adequate), a course at a post-secondary education center (e.g. a university), which lasted at least one year and the language was the primary language of tuition (evidence of which needs to be provided), evidence of having completed a language course if a final certificate was issued at level B2, or the College English Test (CET) with band 6, are also accepted as proof.
