This program is designed for graduates with a bachelor’s degree in physics or a closely related field with strong foundations in theoretical physics, experimental physics, and lab work. It suits students who want to deepen their expertise, explore specialized topics across modern physics, and prepare for research-intensive careers in academia, R&D, data-driven roles, or doctoral study.
The curriculum combines breadth, choice, and research preparation. In the first year, you shape your profile through a Major, Second Major, Minor, and Non-Physics Elective, choosing from areas such as nanophysics, photonics, particle physics, cosmology, quantum information, and data analysis. An Advanced Physics Laboratory Course, interdisciplinary qualifications, a specialization phase, Scientific Methods, and the 30-credit master’s thesis complete the journey.
The M.Sc. Physics is a full-time, on-campus program taught in English. It runs over four semesters and comprises 120 ECTS credits. Entry is possible in both the winter and summer term.

The application requirements for the study program in "Phуsiсs" are:

Bachelor's (Undergraduate) Degrее
with at least 180 ECTS or a minimum study duration of three years in Physics or a closely related field.
Required academic background:
Theoretical Physics: at least 32 ECTS
Experimental Physics: at least 32 ECTS
Physics lab courses (or equivalent): at least 18 ECTS
If up to 10 ECTS in the required subject areas are missing, admission may still be granted conditionally, requiring the missing credits to be completed by the end of the 2nd semester. The admissions commission decides whether this condition applies.
Applicants who fall short of the full requirements but can demonstrate at least 30 ECTS in Theoretical Physics, 30 ECTS in Experimental Physics, and 15 ECTS in Physics lab courses may be invited to an admission interview to demonstrate their subject knowledgе.
