Qualification Requirements


Previous Degree

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in biology or medicine or another degree qualifying for a profession where comparable previous knowledge is needed especially in molecular and cell biology.

Solid basic knowledge in biology or medicine and relevant laboratory experience.

Interest in cell and molecular biology research with a clinical connection in the field of regenerative medicine.

Application Documents


If you are a (prospective) graduate from a non-German institution of higher education, you need to complete three steps for your application:

  1. You need to apply online on the university's databank.
  2. In addition, you need to apply through "uni-assist", a service organization supporting the TU Dresden with processing application documents from international applicants. They will check the completeness of your file and the validity of your certificates. Without it, applications cannot be considered.
    Payment of a fee to uni-assist is required. Please note that your application will only be processed after uni-assist has received your payment.
  3. You need to need to send to uni-assist the following documents by post:
    1. Certified copies of your university degree certificate(s) and certified English or German translations (if the documents have not been issued in one of these languages).
      If you have not received your degree certificate yet, please enclose a certified copy of your latest transcripts as well as a certificate from your university about the achievement of at least 80% of the credits necessary for graduation, the expected overall average grade, and your expected graduation date, including certified English or German translations if the documents have not been issued in one of these languages.
    2. Latest transcripts of records.
    3. Certified copy of your higher education entrance qualification/school leaving certificate (Abitur, Baccalaureate, School-Leaving Certificate, O- and A-Levels, etc) including the list of grades and its attested English or German translation (if the certificate is not issued in one of these languages).
    4. CV in English.
    5. Motivation letter in English.
    6. Two letters of recommendation from professors of your college or university qualified to evaluate your academic achievements and your potential for graduate study.
    7. Proof of your English proficiency (see language requirements).
