Smart Cities are viewed as the emerging paradigm for growing cities worldwide, and because of that, the development and implementation of “Smart” strategies will require interdisciplinary knowledge in various fields. With that in mind, the Master of Engineering in Smart City Solutions was designed in such a way as to allow students to obtain a cross-sectoral knowledge of disciplines like water, energy, mobility, and IT- and database solutions and graduates to enter new career levels in both national and international settings.

Full-time, part-time, dual degree — choose what best fits you!
The M.Eng. in Smart City Solutions program offers different options depending on what best serves you. EU students may take a full-time course (meaning two semesters of coursework plus a third semester for the Thesis) or a part-time program (four semesters of coursework plus a fifth semester of Master Thesis research and writing). Additionally, all students who choose to do an MBA have the chance to attend classes at Liverpool Business School over a period of approximately four months, studying alongside MBA students from the UK, all of whom will be experienced leaders and managers.
A limited number of scholarships are available to all HFT Stuttgart students, who may be selected if they demonstrate outstanding academic performance, proof of social commitment, and exceptional personal circumstances.

I have enjoyed the combination of the modules and learned from my awesome international colleagues. The diversity of this Programme helped me to understand how vibrant, accessible, and beautiful cities should be designed and created.
The Master Programme is solution-oriented. It helped me to identify resources that can be leveraged and repurposed to upgrade a community’s technological and social infrastructure. I learned how to identify gaps and needs, design action points, and work with citizens rather than against them.
