The Master's program in Smart Energy Systems at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences spans three semesters, offering a total of 90 ECTS credits. It's structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of the technological, economic, and ecological aspects of distributed energy systems, alongside a deep dive into digitalization and artificial intelligence within the energy sector.

First Semester:

• Energy Systems / Energy Economics: This module covers the foundational technical knowledge of the components and workings of energy systems, including economic aspects.
• Simulation of Decentralized Energy Systems: Focuses on the digital simulation and analysis of energy systems, teaching students how to model and optimize the flow and distribution of energy.
• IoT Technologies and Data Interfaces: Introduces the creation of digitally networked, intelligent systems using sensor technology and internet connectivity.
• Programming with LabVIEW: Offers basics in graphical programming, enabling students to tackle energy-related problems through computer-based solutions.
• Basics of Artificial Intelligence: Lays the groundwork for understanding AI applications in energy systems, focusing on problem-solving and optimization.

Second Semester:

• Virtual Power Plant: Examines the integration of decentralized energy producers and the use of surplus energy, emphasizing the future of energy supply.

• Entrepreneurial Thinking and Action: Encourages the development of new business models through digitalization, with insights from successful entrepreneurs in the energy sector.
