Qualification Requirements


Previous Degree

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a technical or scientific course in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent. In another course, at least 60 credits in mathematics, natural sciences and engineering, of which at least 18 credits are in the field of mathematics (analysis, algebra).

Required ECTS credits: 180.

Further admission criteria:

  1. 'Good' mathematical knowledge.
  2. 'Good' knowledge of technical sciences.
  3. 'Good' basic knowledge of natural sciencе.
Work Experience

Proof of at least one year of work experience of any kind after finishing your first degree in higher education.

  • The work experience does not have to be obtained in the wind energy sector.
  • In special cases, the examination board can decide that work experience (in any field of activity) that you have gained before you had finished your first degree of higher education is acceptablе as wеll.

Additional information:
English language proficiency can also be proven with school reports that provide evidence of learning the foreign language for at least 5 years if the language was learned up to the final examinations that entitle pupils to study at a university (the final grade or the average grade from the final two years of language learning must be at least the equivalent of a German grade 4 - adequate), a course at a post-secondary education center (e.g. a university), which lasted at least one year and the language was the primary language of tuition (evidence of which needs to be provided), evidence of having completed a language course if a final certificate was issued at level B2, or the College English Test (CET) with band 6, are also accepted as proof.

Required documents (in PDF):

  1. Tabular CV (only if you have studied your previous degree in Germany).
  2. Identity card, front and back (only if you have studied your previous degree in Germany).
  3. School leaving certificate with which you fulfill the entrance requirement for higher education.
  4. Certificates and transcripts of records of your previous higher education.
  5. Proof of at least one year of work (in any field of activity) experience after finishing your first degree of higher education. In special cases, the examination board can decide that the work experience you have gained before you had finished your first degree of higher education is also acceptable.
  6. Proof of English language knowledge (see language requirements).
  7. Letter of motivation (maximum two pages) in which you state your motivation and suitability for the master's program convincingly, including a record of previous academic performance, field training, and scientific work.
  8. Applicants from China, Mongolia, or Vietnam must also submit the APS.

If you have any further documents besides your first university degree that have been issued in another language than German or English, have them translated by a court-certified translator.

Make copies of the original and the translated documеnts.
