Remote Sensing Numerus Clausus

Remote Sensing Programs in Germany with Admission Restriction - Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Overview Deadlines

Remote sensing has increasingly gotten more relevant in the modern information society, ranging from concrete applications in the military, intelligence, commercial and humanitarian sectors to more academic fields such as ecology, geology, hydrology, and meteorology, among others. Students of this subject learn the necessary techniques and methodologies necessary for gathering information about a phenomenon without physical contact with it, making this a promising career in a data-driven world that is always demanding accurate and complete information.

Most Selective Remote Sensing Programs

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).

Remote Sensing NC: Glossary

Numerus Clausus (NC)
This Latin term means “limited number” and indicates that a program has restricted admission. In other words, not all applicants can be accepted, so selection is usually based on grades or other criteria when demand exceeds available spots.
