The Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM), also known as the University of Applied Sciences of Central Hesse, is a public university of applied sciences founded in 1971. With more than 15,000 students as of 2024/25, THM is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Germany. The university is located across three cities in the state of Hesse: Giessen, Friedberg, and Wetzlar, offering students a diverse range of urban and suburban campus experiences.
THM provides a comprehensive range of academic programs, with a strong focus on applied sciences and technology. The university offers over 100 bachelor's and master's degree programs across various disciplines, including Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Life Sciences, and Health Sciences.

Three Campus Cities — One University
Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) is located across three vibrant cities: Gießen, the main academic hub; Friedberg, known for its strong engineering profile; and Wetzlar, a center for optics and dual study programs. Scholarship and funding
Deutschlandstipendium
The Deutschlandstipendium supports talented and committed students with a monthly grant of €300. Half of the funding comes from the German government, while the other half is provided by companies or private sponsors. The scholarship is not counted as income and does not affect any other financial support you may receive, such as BAföG.
