The Saxony-Anhalt Police University (FH Pol LSA), based in Aschersleben, is the central state training and research institution for middle and senior police officers in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. Founded in 1997 by an education reform act, the university combines modern educational concepts with an intensive practical focus. Students are comprehensively prepared for police service in four specialist groups: leadership and operational sciences, criminal sciences, law and social sciences. Following extensive renovation of the campus until 2011, the site now includes new lecture halls, a canteen, a sports hall and an attractive campus.
