About the University

Fachhochschule Erfurt, also known as University of Applied Sciences Erfurt or FH Erfurt, is a public university founded in 1991 shortly after German reunification. With over 4,000 students, it is a medium-sized university of applied sciences located in the historic city of Erfurt, the capital of the German state of Thuringia in central Germany.  UAS Erfurt has three campuses located in different parts of Erfurt - the Altonaerstrasse Campus, the Leipzigerstrasse Campus and the Schlüterstrasse Campus. The university facilities are modern and well equipped, providing students with an inspiring learning environment. Erfurt itself offers a high quality of life, with a picturesque old town, excellent transport links and proximity to other major German cities.

The university offers a wide range of practice-oriented Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in fields such as Applied Computer Science, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Social Work, Urban Planning and Business Administration. FH Erfurt has a particular focus on sustainability, with several "green" degree programmes related to environmental conservation, ecosystem management, and sustainable engineering and design. The university also offers a number of specialised dual study programmes that combine academic study with vocational training in partner companies. UAS Erfurt actively promotes international exchange and has partnerships with around 100 universities worldwide. Each year it welcomes a cohort of international students and offers short-term study abroad programmes such as an International Summer School.

Although a relatively young institution, FH Erfurt has quickly built a reputation for providing high-quality, career-focused education with close links to industry and an emphasis on applied research projects that address real-world challenges. Its diverse student body, global outlook and focus on sustainability make it an attractive choice for those seeking a modern and impactful university education in the heart of Germany.
