Course Description
In the English Studies subject, you will analyze linguistic phenomena, literary texts, and cultural processes in Great Britain and other English-speaking cultures (except the USA) in their historical and social context. You will learn to apply basic methods and theories of English linguistics, literary studies, and cultural studies to specific questions and to present and discuss your findings in appropriate technical language in English.
The academic model of the bachelor's degree program in English Studies is fundamentally based on the structure of the new European philologies, which are defined by the interaction of their disciplines of literary studies, cultural studies, linguistics, and language practice, as well as their stringent cooperation.
The courses in the compulsory and elective modules of the Bachelor's degree program in English are held in English. The language of instruction in the elective and key qualification modules may differ.
