Course Description
In today’s world, data is collected everywhere—from social networks and e-commerce platforms to medical research, city administration, and manufacturing. Data is being generated in massive quantities, often appearing overwhelming and complex. Our modern society relies on experts who can manage this data, analyze its intricacies, uncover hidden patterns, and turn it into actionable insights.
This is where Data Science plays a crucial role. With broad training in data preparation, analysis, and visualization, the Bachelor of Data Science at the University of Regensburg prepares students to become highly skilled data scientists.
The program at the University of Regensburg is structured around several key pillars:
Students receive a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and computer science, essential for success in data science. From this base, they can customize their studies according to their interests. The program offers a wide range of elective courses, allowing students to apply their skills in various fields, such as tumor research, quantum mechanics, fake news detection, or IT security.
In addition, students have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of specific tools through elective courses and can explore subjects beyond data science by choosing courses from the broader offerings of the University of Regensburg, including areas like rhetoric or project management.
