Shaping Tomorrow’s Construction – Meet Annika from TH Augsburg [Video in German]
Course Description
The Bachelor’s program Digital Design and Production (B.Eng.) educates professionals who think, plan, and deliver construction processes digitally. At the intersection of architecture, civil engineering, and computer science, students work with BIM, parametric design, data models, and AI-supported methods on sustainable, climate-conscious construction projects. Through a practical semester and integrated project phases, digital ideas are translated into real-world, scalable solutions.

The program is designed for applicants who want to actively shape the digital transformation of the construction industry. It addresses creative and analytical minds with an interest in architecture, digital design, and programming, as well as technically trained candidates who aim to combine engineering, design, and digital methods.
It is equally well suited for practice-oriented students who value project-based learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and close exchange with industry partners.
Special Program Features
Strong Network of Industry, Research, and Professional Associations
The program maintains close partnerships with industry partners, research institutions, and professional associations. Students benefit from joint projects, practice-oriented formats, and collaborations with companies that provide early insight into current developments in the construction industry and support the development of a strong professional network.
Modern teaching with innovative learning approaches
The program is built around contemporary teaching and learning formats that encourage active, independent, and hands-on learning. Gamification elements, inverted classroom models, and project-based formats actively involve students in the learning process and enable them to take responsibility for their work from an early stage. The curriculum is complemented by forward-looking elective courses that focus on current and emerging developments in artificial intelligence and digital technologies. These include topics such as AI agents, vibe coding, automated workflows, and new forms of human–machine interaction. Course content is regularly updated to reflect trends from both research and professional practice at an early stage.
Study options with integrated practical phases
Students have the option to complete their studies as part of a cooperative study program or an extended practice-integrated program. In these formats, additional in-company practical phases are integrated into the degree. This allows students to continuously apply theoretical knowledge in real-world projects, gain professional experience at an early stage, and build valuable connections within the construction and planning industries. In many cases, this leads to excellent career entry opportunities even before graduation. → More Info
