Course Description
At Freshman College, you bridge the gap between your high school diploma and a bachelor's degree from Ruhr University Bochum. During the intensive preparatory year, you will develop your German language skills to the C1 level, strengthen your knowledge of mathematics and science, and hone your core academic skills, such as writing, presenting, and independent study. You will learn in small, international groups on the RUB campus, work with digital learning tools, and gain early insights into real lectures and laboratories. After passing the final assessments, you will earn a university entrance qualification that will secure your place in a matching STEM bachelor's program at Ruhr University Bochum.
The Freshman College is designed for you if you are about to finish school or have recently graduated, are passionate about mathematics, computer science or the natural sciences, and want to study in Germany but do not yet fully meet the formal admission requirements. It suits motivated, academically strong applicants who enjoy working in international groups and are ready to invest a full year to prepare carefully for a STEM bachelor’s at Ruhr University Bochum.
