Please submit the following supporting documents along with your application:

1. Recommendation letter:
   One recommendation letter is required. This should ideally come from a school or university official, such as a career/guidance counselor, head of school, principal, dean of students, department head or faculty advisor.
2. Official or certified copies of high school: First year applicants (applying straight out of high school) will need to submit transcripts for the last 2-3 years of high school. Transcripts can be submitted to the undergraduate admissions office via these three options:
   1. Your school official (counselor, teacher, principal, etc.) uploads the transcripts to the Common App.
   2. E-transcripts issued by official digital credential services (e.g. parchment).
   3. You send certified copies of your transcripts to the university by post using the following mailing address:

3. Educational history form.
4. Standardized testing (SAT, ACT, TestAS):
   Students who will graduate (or graduated) with the German Abitur do not need to submit standardized test scores to Jacobs University. Most applicants are required to submit SAT/ACT/TestAS scores in order to be eligible for admission to Jacobs University. You may be exempted from this requirement depending on your high school subject combination and expected/earned high school diploma type.
5. Language proficiency test (see language requirements).
6. Motivation statement: At Jacobs University, they want to get to know you better as an applicant through a personal essay and some university specific questions. You will find questions such as “What do you find interesting?” and “Why Jacobs?” in the “My Colleges Writing” section of the Common App.
