Furtwangen University — Where the Black Forest Meets Global Minds
Course Description
What if your engineering degree also made you fluent in global business? The B.Sc. International Engineering at Furtwangen University blends deep technical expertise with business knowledge, foreign language training, and intercultural competence. Starting in semester three, you specialize in either Mechanical Engineering or Medical Engineering, then spend a full semester abroad at a partner university in China, France, Spain, or South America. A dedicated internship semester ensures you graduate with real-world professional experience in your portfolio. Whether your interest lies in mechanical systems or medical devices, IEB suits those who see their future in bridging technical innovation and global markets. No prior German language skills are required.

Testimonials
I chose Furtwangen University because it's well-known for its practical orientation and international study programs. What I really like about my International Engineering program, with its focus on medical engineering, is the mix of technical and business content, along with the chance to do a study semester abroad in France. That experience gave me valuable intercultural insights and helped me deepen my knowledge of industrial engineering.
The HFU Business School stands out for its international focus and high academic standards. From the perspective of a Latin American student, it offers an excellent opportunity for both professional and personal growth in a truly global environment. As a student assistant, I am committed to supporting and guiding new international students, making them feel welcome and helping them adapt smoothly to university life.
