State Exam Programs in Bayreuth without Admission Restriction / NC-Free (2026/27)

Bayreuth combines classical cultural heritage with a lively, modern student atmosphere in a city that punches well above its weight. Known worldwide as the city of Richard Wagner and home to the UNESCO-listed Margravial Opera House, Bayreuth offers international students a unique blend of tradition and youthful energy—around 13,000 students among just 72,000 residents means the university genuinely shapes the city's character. The compact size makes everyday life easy and personal, with most places reachable by bicycle and familiar faces appearing quickly. Historic landmarks contrast with a charming old town filled with cosy cafés, small bars, and popular student pubs clustered around Maxstraße, while the spacious, park-like campus fosters a close-knit community centred around the legendary "Glashaus" club and frequent student-organised events.
