Study Ancient Greek - Teacher Education Academic Secondary Education [Gymnasium] in Berlin (2026/27)

Studying Ancient Greek to become a teacher means immersing yourself in the cradle of European culture and giving students access to texts that continue to shape our thinking today. As a Greek teacher, you read Homer in the original with young people, discuss Plato's dialogues, analyze Sophocles' tragedies, and show how Greek philosophy, democracy, and science laid the foundations of our society. Like no other subject, it trains analytical thinking, linguistic precision, and the ability to penetrate complex texts—skills that are valuable far beyond the classroom. The course itself is challenging and fascinating: in addition to intensive language acquisition, the curriculum includes Greek literature from the Archaic to Late Antiquity, ancient history, philosophy, and mythology.
