Eberswalde offers international students a distinctive educational experience at the University of Sustainable Development (HNEE), Germany's greenest university. HNEE specializes in forestry, organic agriculture, and sustainable business practices—fields in which the campus itself becomes a living laboratory. This charming town northeast of Berlin can trace its academic roots back to Germany's oldest forest academy, founded in 1830. Over time, it has evolved into a modern center for sustainability research, attracting students who want their education to align with their environmental values.
