Freiberg: Master programs with Admission Restriction — Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Freiberg offers international students a distinctive educational experience at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, one of the world's oldest mining universities with nearly 250 years of history and a global reputation in geology, mineralogy, materials science, and sustainable resource management. This charming Saxon town combines deep academic tradition with cutting-edge research, and students benefit from resources found nowhere else: the spectacular "Terra Mineralia" collection housing thousands of minerals from around the world, and unique underground research laboratories in historic mine tunnels where theory becomes tangible. The intimate campus atmosphere fosters close relationships with professors who are leading experts in their fields, while numerous English-taught programmes and dedicated support services help international students settle in quickly and thrive. Beyond the classroom, Freiberg's perfectly preserved Renaissance old town creates an inspiring backdrop—a magnificent cathedral, historic market square, and UNESCO World Heritage mining sites tell the story of a place shaped by centuries of scientific inquiry and craftsmanship.
