Study Programs in Witzenhausen without Admission Restriction / NC-Free (2026/27)

Witzenhausen, the charming “cherry town” nestled in the hills of northern Hesse, offers students a truly distinctive living environment shaped by sustainability, nature, and a close-knit community. The small town is known for its picturesque half-timbered old town along the Werra River and its strong connection to organic agriculture, which is reflected in everyday life as much as in its academic profile. Surrounded by orchards, rolling countryside, and the nearby Kaufunger Wald Nature Park, Witzenhausen provides excellent opportunities for outdoor activities and a lifestyle closely connected to nature. One of its greatest advantages is the exceptionally low cost of living, with affordable housing and a relaxed housing market that are rare in most student cities.
