For applicants who have not obtained their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking institution, further admission requirements are proof of sufficient knowledge of German or English language for active participation in the courses in accordance with the study and examination regulations applicable to the respective course. Proof of German language skills is provided in accordance with the provisions of the DSH examination regulations of the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is usually used to prove sufficient English language skills. The proof is not required for applicants whose mother tongue is German or English.
