Requirements
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in the field of materials science and engineering, physics, chemistry, or other materials science or engineering-related studies. You can apply even if you will not have finished your studies within our application deadline. In this case, you must submit an official document stating that you are a currently enrolled student and participating in your last year of studies.
Minimum standard period of study: 3 years.
The program is particularly attractive for students with outstanding results in subject areas relevant to materials science and engineering (e.g. material science, physics, etc.). Additionally, around 15% of your academic records should include courses related to mathematics.
Students should have previous study experience in areas relevant to Materials Science and Engineering. The ranking goes as follows:
- Materials Science, Materials Engineering.
- Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering.
- Electrical, Electronic, Civil Engineering, etc.
With degrees in Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, Textile Engineering, Design, Architecture, Computational Science, and Informatics you will not be entitled to scholarships and only be accepted in exceptional cases.
Experience in research and development at universities and/or in the industry can also be advantageous and should be mentioned in your application. These experiences can be internships, jobs, project work, etc.

Application Documents
If you want to start at LTU and your degree was awarded in Bangladesh, Cameroon, Canada, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, or the USA, your official transcript must be sent per post from your university.
Additionally, students from Pakistan must certify their academic documents with an HEC stamp.
It is also important that you are highly motivated to complete the AMASE program. You can prove this by a well-written motivation letter on why you want to join the program (max. of 1 page).
Note:
All documents can be uploaded in any language of the consortium, which are English, Spanish, French, and German. All other documents have to be translated into one of these languages.
